Pharmacological actions

Clinical trials have shown that the essence content of Apium graveolens and Aethum graveolens affect appetite center in the brain and inhibit the hunger feeling moreover, the flavonoid content of these plants inhibits lipogenase and thus the lipid synthesis and lower chlosterol concentration in the blood. The active ingredients in Slim Quick synergistically inhibit the appetite center and can increase the metabolism of lipid in the body, then decrease the lipid content of blood. The continuous ingestion of Slim Quick reduces body fat, and cholesterol levels. It increases betaoxidaion (fat burning) in the liver by catechins which is associated with the reduction of intra-abdominal body fat.The caffeine content in green tea inhibits, phosphodiesterase and catechine along with caffeine which inhibits COMT and thus increase the catecholamine concentration and increase the body metabolism(6).The new investigations on green tea show that glutamine derivative namely L. theanine along with the other constituents in green tea decrease the body weight. Green tea increases the effect of insulin. The insulin resistance is due to metabolic syndrome which accumulates fat around the belly and increase the fat production and it’s storage. Green tea is able to increase the oxidation and fat metabolism in the liver and decrease fat accumulation in belly cavity. Green tea increases thermogenesis and directly promotes fat-burning, cuts fat production in the body, reduces appetite, and even promotes insulin action.Cell culture studies show that epigallocatechin gallate inhibits acetyl-CoA carboxylase and fatty acid synthase, which are rate limiting enzymes in the biosynthesis of fatty acids(6).
